Overview
Bodwip 3D (বদ্বীপ 3D) is a real-time 3D Bengali village round a small river, running in the browser. A majhi paddles his boat from the river into a khal under an old brick bridge, up a side khal under a bamboo sanko and onto a shapla beel, while Bangladesh's six seasons turn as he goes. Nearly everything, the land, the water, the trees, the sky and the sound, is generated in code at load.

Bodwip 3D previewHighlights
- Six seasons: crops that grow and are reaped, trees that green and flower, kash in Sharat, the water rising in the rains, salt farms that become fish ghers, fog, rain and kalboishakhi storms
- Live mode: the village at Bangladesh's own date, hour, season and moon, with the real sun and moon positions and the Bangla date
- Cinematic camera: a drone-like opening on the most beautiful spring morning of the year, then a camera that composes its own views of the sights along the way
- A film: a year in the village in 25 scenes, with continuous dissolves
- A map: the village from above; each place plays its own shots
- Living water: planar reflections, a ripple simulation, the boat's wake, drifting water hyacinth
- People: skinned characters with inverse kinematics; the paddle stroke drives the boat
- Procedural sound: water, wind, birds, rain, thunder and a train with Doppler, all made with Web Audio
- Performance: adaptive resolution and quality tiers for phones; shaders and GPU uploads done at load
- SEO: structured data, Open Graph cards and a sitemap; Lighthouse SEO 100
Tech
- three.js r186 on WebGL 2, custom GLSL shaders and post-processing
- TypeScript (strict) and Vite
- Deployed on Vercel, with Vercel Web Analytics
