The Brief
Pollify is a workspace for creating polls, running elections and watching results update in real time. Creators share polls by link, join code or QR code, decide who can vote, set rules for catching duplicate votes and choose when results become visible.
I built it alone, from the product decisions and interface design to the data model, the real-time layer and the launch.
What I Built
- 01
Trustworthy Counting
Voter rules (sign-in, email domains or lists, student IDs) and duplicate checks across five signals: account, email, device, session and IP.
- 02
Real-Time Results
Live tallies and charts on Firebase and MongoDB that update for everyone as votes arrive.
- 03
The Whole Product
Four question types, anonymous or named ballots, scheduled voting windows, analytics, CSV exports, designed result images and threaded comments with notifications.
The Story
The Challenge
Make voting feel instant for everyone in the room while keeping every result trustworthy.
The Approach
Next.js and TypeScript with Firebase and MongoDB behind live tallies and charts, plus voter rules and duplicate checks across account, email, device, session and IP.
The Outcome
Released in October 2026 with per-poll analytics, CSV exports, designed result images and threaded comments.
